Q: What age should I switch my puppy to adult food?
A: A puppy should be fed a diet formulated for growth until it has reached its mature adult size. Puppies of different breeds mature at different ages. Typically, smaller breeds reach adult size between 8 and 12 months of age, and medium breeds at 12 to 18 months. In small and medium breeds, puppy food should be fed for the first full year of growth. Large and giant breeds may continue to grow for as long as 2 years during which time puppy food is recommended.
